Refer to your door for the recommended rough. Lets call this wall Wall01. The existing one needs to be reused.
Cut the jack stud to the height of the rough opening minus 1-12 inches to allow for the thickness of the bottom plate. Currently there is no window or door on this wall. No lifting of heavy steel or building brick arches the existing lintel can stay in the wall.
Measure and cut a hole in both sides of the wall large enough for the header and the posts that support it. 1 We need 2 patio doors adjacent to each other. This too is an external wall.
This gives you a little more room to work with for the new wiring. Check out part one here. The opening should be two inches wider than the door frame and about an inch taller in height.
So step out of the darkness and into the light. - add framing for new door add header new studs etc - reroute electrical if necessary - drill holes from inside at 4 corners of new opening and a couple of other spots along the sides and top. Assemble a king-and-jack-stud combination.
